It has been a while since I have put out an update. I have been camping for the last week. Camping was a major test for my metabolism and will power. I ate pretty well most of the time but indulged in some of my favourite camping snacks. I ate Smores, chocolate covered raisins, marshmallows, chips, popcorn and obviously had some beer. I came home expecting to have gained some weight but to my surprise I still weigh the same. I am pretty sure that my metabolism is working well and if I add in some regular cardiovascular exercise 3 times a week, I should be able to eat without concern of gaining weight forever.
I am going to continue eating well in terms of the Dr. Bernstein diet, meaning mostly lean meat and vegetables. I have grown to enjoy them more than my old favourites. I ate some McDonalds on the way home from my camping trip, 2 Filet-o-Fish and some fries, and absolutely felt horrible the rest of the night. The amount of fat and grease in the food was a complete shock to my system I think and I felt like I poisoned myself. I actually thought that I missed eating fast food but after that experience I know that it is not something I want in my life anymore. I will definitely avoid fast food from now on.
I am still doing my push up and sit up routine each week. I am coaching my son’s soccer team again this year which will get me running a couple nights a week. I also plan on doing some jogging 3 times a week in the morning.
Anyways, though I would throw up and update. There have been quite a few people who have contacted me regarding the Dr. Bernstein Diet who were doing it or considering doing it, I would love to hear from you guys. I am curious to see how you are doing.
Cheers.

I too went on this diet and just read your blog. It was uplifting to the weight posted and what you were eating. I didn’t know I could you the whole 1 litre of chicken broth, I am going to make some soup tomorow on Sunday. I know what you mean in the beginning about thinking about food. It makes it worse when you keep reading the list of foods you can eat and I am a pretty picky eater. My main day is 6-8 strawberries for breakfast, lunch dinner same, 31/2 ounces chicken with peppers onions and mushrooms split accordingly with a apple as mid afternoon snack. As you said by the end of a work day I am starving. Starting week 3 lost 12 so far and aiming for 40-50, hopefully back to 120 like in my twenties. My husband said no way I can do it but like you the money, seeing the weight loss everyday (hopefully) really keeps you motivated. And also like you said there are alot of people out there who want to see you fail. Why, I don’t know. My son has a AAA hockey tournament at the end of October and I really don’t want to go and screw up everthing I am accomplishing. Search web site for a really small microwave. Husband will freak but if I don’t have one in the room I will no be able to stay on this diet. If I buy one, make alot of baked and take it, buy some grocery’s there I can manage. Stupid hotel can’t give me one in the room even though I offered to pay for. Thank god they can supply a small fridge. And it’s a Hyatt hotel. Sorry to go on for so long but I felt I could spill it all out to you because you have been there. How are doing you haven’t updated this since August 23 and it now Oct. 4th. LONELY IN TORONTO. Hopefully that will change when both my husband and son realize I really mean business. And no I have not cheated once and your right its tough but like you I think I have the will power this time to do. Thank you for listening and I hope to hear from you and how you are doing. Please email me back

I am extremely impressed with you! I am going for the consultation tomorrow, and I figured that I would read some reviews. Most were negative. I have loved reading your blog, and would love to set myself up with one, tracking my progress every day. Could you help me with this? I would love to hear from you,
Thanks,
Sarah

Hey Sarah,
Do you know if they take a consultation fee?
I am also considering to go to the Dr.B office ..
I am really trying to figure out an approx cost of this whole program im aiming to lose about 60lbs. I’m a university student and im using scholarship/loan money for this. I have no other option and i feel that if i try and make a change now it will only benefit me in the future.
I hope you get back to me,
-K
